04/09/2015 Gesture GIFs,2D/2.5D Ideas,Bronze Personality

Started out with gestures of  core mechanics that interact with environment.

The weight seems like the hand should pull her around to jump not the hand following after she jumps, but then tested out the hand pulling and it seems abit off,I think the first one feels better.

Too grapple like, less weight and not much movement in Bronze.

Tried out a grab and throw with the hand.

Was suggested to time the hand to fall after the rock. Will try something like that later.

Tried out the grapple options

General thoughts:
Game could be 2d or 2.5D,The reason I would not use 3D is that the hand mechanic would need auto target if it was in 3D space.
2D is what I am comfortable with as well.

If the hand doesn't look right it could be 3D as long as it fits in with the aesthetic.

Bronze could be 2D and the nhand could be 3D
Or possible both 3D but in a 2D plane of gameplay similar to double dragon neon or abe's odyssey .

Personality of the Main Characters:
I thought I would write this out to figure out the posture, expressions etc of the character when I do more indepth designs for the concepts and mock up.

In brackets are the reasons for each personality trait to give context.

Bronze:

bleak/melancholy/unstable
(feels like a monster,incomplete,corrupted,cursed,weak)

diverted
(avoiding her problems)

gentle/intrigued
(towards creatures, sentient beings because she wants company)

indifferent/inattentive
(feels forced at times, uncaring towards golems goals, not listening to golem)

inquisitive/explorer/curious
 (towards surroundings,past)

timid/shy/innocent/youthful
(is surrounded/next to much more powerful ancient beings all the time)

antisocial/uncivilized
(not used to humans/elfen,lived alone in the desert, treated badly in past)

ignorant/learning
(forgot past,learning about the world)

daring
(feels like she has nothing to lose at times)

empathetic
(towards discrimination, manipulating, loneliness, pain, unfair events as she has experienced this)

idealistic
(has experienced many difficult decisions and wishes for better solutions)

imaginative/innovative
(human/elfen condition of being able to think randomly to create ideas illogically)

independent
(aside from the golem, she has had to live alone without help)

Rock Golem:

stubborn
(Won't be convinced to leave desert until it meets his priorities)

assertive/aggressive/threatening (usually solves things through violence or intimidation)

overpowering (tries to be leader/dominant,used to command lesser golems)

untrusting
 (of strangers/humans)

protective
 (of bronze and environment/golems)

sentimental/nostalgic
(towards his fellow golems/past)

mentor/teacher/knowledgeful/wise/contemplative/mature
(ancient being, has done this all before)

unstable/guilty
(doesn't want to repeat past,is hiding something,is injured and over-exerting himself)

ignorant
(although is ancient, has not traveled far from home before)

alert/observant/perceptive
(does not sleep, senses differently to other races)

calm/clear headed
(danger does not phase him as much because of his defensive structure/form)

caring/sympathetic
(although he hides it,he realizes Bronze is unhappy how she is)

co-operative
(is injured and know he won't get far himself)

decisive/forthright
(is mostly unbiased and makes informed decisions based on his motives)

dedicated/dutiful/firm/patient/tolerant
(protected desert for a long time in solitude, dealt with Bronze)

unforgiving
(does not forget, has been betrayed many times)

unimaginative
(factually based,by the book, works in logical ways)

invulnerable/masculine/solid/stoic/strong
( he is a rock golem)

loyal
(sees straight through people, their core being, will know who he can trust completely)

prudent/antisocial
(Golem race doesn't care about trivial human matters, does not care for relationships)

realistic
(has seen the outcome of illogical ideals over and over)

serious/thorough
(no room for grey area, right or wrong, yes or no)
