28/04/2016 Model Sheet Lineart

Started the lineart process in flash. I still have to fix some proportion issues on the front view as well as fix the look of the boots in the front view, although I'm not sure where Iwnet wrong with them as of yet.

Details like the face and hands will come in after I've fixed the other issues.

Then I will move onto the colour.

25/04/2016 Bronze Front View

Spent some time figuring out the solid shapes for the front view whilst keeping some of the overall flow.

I think the boots either need some more work,or that the view itself is making it look off. Perhaps I could put the boots at a slight angle to make them less flat, but then that may undermine the point of a model sheet having views.

The hair seems to conflict with the torso as it hangs down and creates tangents at flat angles like the front view, although it works perfectly fine at profile view, which is the prime concern for a 2D platformer. The purpose of the front view is basically just to solidify the design at all angles, even though we don't require a back view.

The head shape and hair in the front view isn't working well with the ears and collar,so it may need further work before I got into flash and do the lineart and colour.

The last time I drew Bronze was at the inception of her design, where the hair at the back of her head didn't conflict with the ears as it was longer. But this didn't make sense as the collar would hae interfered with the hair. Now bronzes hair is shorter at the back and longer in the front, something I implemented in a few of my other designs as well.
The sidebangs of hair were also shorter in the first design.

(2013 Design of Bronze)

The overall design and shape of the body used to be a lot more tubular in shape but now has more tapered and bulky shapes, especially in the legs.
The thickness of the lower legs is undefined but I imagine the space would now be similar to wearing gumboots.

11/04/2016 Character Concepts

These are most of the relevant concepts for the characters of the game world. I simplified this roster into three main humanoid characters last year:
-Bronze (The one with the rock arm)   The protagonist
-Dark Bolt ( The greyscale character with the scarf) The rival/grunt/antagonist/potential ally
-Parade Avalon (The greyscale character in the top left) The antagonist

This was mostly to focus in on Bronze's perspective as the protagonist, many of the other characters have no plot relevance to Bronze directly or never meet Bronze throughout the storyline of the game planned back in 2015.

Also colour schemes.

I based the first three off potential environments I planned in 2015. That being Rera desert, Abandoned Mists, and Eira Plateau.

The last 3 are similar colour schemes to characters I like or have made in the past.
I am rather fond of the purple one although it doesn't really say much about her location, and is rather unnatural for a medieval desert setting.

07/04/2016 Silhouette Studies

This Silhouette study follows the process of Bronze's design and design ideas for the golem race.
Bronze started off quite complicated in design and over time became simplified and more solid as a character.

The Golem silhouettes showed me the potential of the other elements they could be/have.
The Rock Golem started off  humanoid which did not seem very natural for a non man made Golem, and over time became more hunched over and top heavy.
